Easy Protein Hacks
Going on a vacation, or in my case remodeling a kitchen, can create obstacles for eating a healthy high-protein diet.
It becomes difficult figuring out what to eat since there isn't a stove available to use for cooking the usual protein staples such as chicken or ground turkey. While remodeling my kitchen I have found the following easy ways to eat high protein without the use of a stove.
1. Microwave egg whites.
I know it sounds strange; but it actually does work when you are in a crunch. I spray a bowl with nonstick, add in seasoning and microwave my egg whites in intervals of 30 seconds. It is important to stir the bowl every round until they are cooked. ***Be careful to not overcook them or else they may get a plastic texture***
2. Microwave protein brownie.
This is a similar concept to the egg whites whites except I take one scoop of RIVALUS chocolate Promasil Casein Protein and mix it with a little baking powder and 3 tablespoons of egg whites. Microwave for about 45 seconds to get a gooey high protein brownie.
3. Protein smoothie.
To get a delicious cold dessert get a blender and add in ice, a cup of almond milk, a piece of frozen banana, and a scoop of Rivalwhey Cookies and Cream protein powder. Blend until smooth to enjoy a guilt-free frosty cookies and cream smoothie.
4. Protein Waffles.
All you need is a waffle maker, protein powder, baking powder, and egg whites. This is such an easy way to hit your protein macros and even better; feel like you are eating a carb loaded waffle! Just mix half a tsp of baking powder, a scoop of protein, and 3 tbsp of egg whites. Pour into your waffle maker for some easy low-carb waffles on the go and top with some sugar free syrup.
