High Levels of Estrogen and Your Health

Although estrogen is an important hormone for proper functioning, having too much of a good thing is not always better. In fact, having too much of it can be part of the reason you’re not getting the health results you desire. Higher amounts of estrogen has been linked with higher body fat percentages, inhibiting fat loss, and higher risks of cancer. Although most women tend to store more, higher levels of estrogen has become a problem for both men and women today due to the large amounts of chemical estrogens we are exposed to in our daily lives. Detoxing estrogen naturally from your body will help you in achieving better results. Safely eliminating high levels can also help reduce cancer risks. We can’t control all things in this situation, how we produce it, how much, and how we metabolize it, but there are ways we can assist our bodies in naturally eliminating some. The key is to live a lifestyle that both improves how we eliminate it and how much we expose ourselves to the estrogens found in our habitats. This can be done by:
- Increasing the amount of cruciferous veggies consumed like broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, and cabbage
- Make sure you are getting the proper amount of dietary fiber – binds to estrogen and assists in elimination
- Take a good probiotic – helps put good bacteria into your gut, improving your gut health, which improves the metabolism of estrogen
- High insulin levels have been associated with poor estrogen metabolism – help control insulin levels with a lower carb diet
- Drinking organic green tea
- If you drink coffee, purchase an organic blend because regular coffee beans are heavily sprayed with pesticides
- Limit your exposure to plastic water bottles – Never leave your water bottle in the sun or heat. Some water bottles are made with chemicals to decompose quickly which can cause them to release harmful substances into your water. (*look for BPA free, etc.)
- Lifting weights is going to help increase the amount of testosterone – don’t worry, ladies, this is in very mild amounts and good for you!
- Lowering cortisol, the stress hormone, will help bump up your progesterone levels which can be done by eating well and balanced, exercising regularly, and getting sleep
- Limit chemical exposure – eat and drink organic, use natural products (household/personal), look into certain fragrances/scented candles/air fresheners, limit microwaving/heating plastic, say “no” to receipts (many contain BPA), cloth bags instead of plastic for groceries
These are just a few examples of how you can control your estrogen levels and your exposure to more. Although this may not be the one factor that is hindering your results, it’s never a bad idea to improve your lifestyle. We can only benefit, right?!
If you’re looking for something more that can offer you further hormone support, it’s best to take the natural route without consuming synthetic drugs to eliminate estrogen. Take a look at some of the Rivalus products that can assist you with your goals.
