How to Break Out of a Workout Funk

If you have been lifting or working out long enough, chances are you have gotten caught up in what I like to call a workout funk. The workout funk is a time period where you just "aren't feeling it". For some people the workout funk lasts for one day and for others it can last for a couple weeks. I define the workout funk as going into the gym and having lazy workouts (skipping sets/cardio), lacking motivation and feeling that one would rather do anything than go to the gym. It may sound strange if you love working out and weightlifting; however, it definitely happens at some degree from time to time. I definitely experience a workout funk from time to time and have found ways to get my motivation back and get back to my intense workouts.
Here is a list of easy ways to get yourself out of a workout funk and back to your normal motivated kick-butt-in-the-gym self:
1. Switch up your gym routine. If you are always performing the same workouts it's no wonder that you are getting bored. Check out previous RivalUS blogs for new workout ideas or try watching YouTube workouts to get new exercise to try at the gym.
2.Buy yourself new workout gear. This may sound silly, but if I get a new pair of workout shoes or leggings I feel motivated to have a good workout in my new apparel. This could be all it takes to break out a funk.
3.Make a new gym playlist. Because who doesn't get pumped up by blasting new music during a workout.
4. Try a guest pass at a different gym. Maybe your gym could be the reason you are lacking motivation, so it doesn't hurt to switch things up and try a different gym to see if that might be what's causing your workout funk.
5. Try out RivalUS PowderBurn preworkout, aka liquid motivation
