Morning Motivation

Hi there RivalUS family! This month I want to talk about what gets me motivated and helps keep me motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle and to compete.

First and foremost, my children!! Unfortunately obesity, diabetes and heart disease run in my family. So breaking the cycle and leading by example are my biggest motivators. Teaching my children the importance of staying active and making healthy food and life choices are a top priority in my life.

Now to the basics (still just as important!)…..

I start with the end in mind, I pick a goal. So being a bikini competitor, I decide on what competitions I will participate in throughout the year and plan my prep months. Without a set goal it is too easy to fall of track, so I always have a plan for the year!

I also look to others around me and on social media for motivation. I love seeing everyone from all walks of life crushing their goals. I actually get super motivated whenever I see a new member in the gym! I get really hyped up when I see someone new starting out on their journey. It makes me think of the first time I thought about competing and how scared and excited I was. I get so much motivation from my other RivalUS team athletes. Wow those guys and girls are amazing!! Whenever I feel like I’m falling off track I go to my favorite fitness competitors social media (most of them are team RivalUS) and scroll through to see what workouts they’ve posted, to get new ideas, or I look at pics of their meal prep to find new foods I can make. And of course I just like looking at fitness pics to get me wanting to go to the gym.

Another thing that gets me motivated and keeps me motivated is working in a health club. I’m around fitness all day long….how could that not get you excited?!

So what gets you motivated? Ask yourself that and fins things that you can turn to, to help keep you focused on crushing your goals!
